As it always is, autumn is full of new releases and announcements of upcoming sales. Following Apple, Samsung also confirmed that they are planning to start selling Galaxy Fold this September. Without a doubt, Samsung’s new Galaxy is the most awaited and exciting smartphone of 2019. Moreover, the initial release was planned in spring, but the developers faced with some problems with the screen. For now, Samsung representatives officially declared that they had successfully surpassed them and are ready to show the innovation to the public. What should we expect from the new Galaxy Fold?

Galaxy Fold — The Most Expected Innovation of the Year

It is not a secret that Apple and Samsung are two superstars in the world of mobile development. They set up trends and dictate directions in the mobile phone design. And for now, Samsung is ready to show their the most innovative smartphone to the public. But the story of its release started in April when the South Korean corporation was forced to move the date of the smartphone release. The problems lie in the screen and protective cover issues.

Galaxy Fold is the foldable mobile phone that has the potential to become a major smartphone in this line. I suppose that this model has all chances to beat the foldable Huawei Mate X. In fact, it is something new on the market. And before the release, the developers noticed the peeling of the thin layer of plastic that allows protecting the phone from hits and a small hole on the back of the device created by the lifting of the screen during opening and closing. Such problems were the major reason for canceling the planned release date.

New Decisions in Design that Help to Overcome the Troubles

Samsung takes time to evaluate the design of its mobile phone and create new solutions. After almost three months of silence, they finally announced a new planned date for sales — September 2019. The improvements include:

  • The extension of the top protective layer of Infinity Flex Display;
  • Adding the new reinforcements that aim to protect the phone from getting in different small particles while saving the concept of foldable design;
  • Galaxy Fold features new protection caps on the bottom and top of the hinge area: adding metal layer beyond Infinity Flex Display and decreasing the space between the hinge and the body of the phone.

The dilemma is, should the customers trust the company enough to buy a new device. Therefore, besides these improvements, Samsung also confirmed that they are not planning to stop the development and improvement of the mobile phone. They want to optimize apps and services better to enhance the UX experience. At the moment, the device is passing the final tests. The more details about it will be announced closer to the launch day.

The Issue With T-Mobile

The problems with the design are only a part of all troubles Samsung faced with launching a new model. Several days ago, it became known that T-Mobile will not sell the improved device. The information was officially confirmed by the company:

“T-Mobile will not carry the Galaxy Fold because we already offer customers a wide range of the latest smartphones. Please reach out to Samsung for any further inquiries”.

We still do not know definitely if it is a true reason or some larger problems hide underneath. In April, the company was ready to sell Galaxy Phone. T-Mobile is a large and one of the oldest companies on the market and a subsidiary of Deutsche Telecom AG, the German telecommunication company. T-Mobile operates in 4 markets: Czech Republic, Netherlands, Poland, and the USA.

The journalists also asked another large seller — AT&T about their plans to work or not to work with Samsung to sell Galaxy Fold. Unfortunately, they did not provide them with any details or comments. The cause can be that the company is still on the stage of negotiation. AT&T is the world's largest provider of mobile services and the American multinational company. Therefore, Samsung shouldn't lose such a partner as well. This event can influence the trust of the customers and lead to small sales.

Are You Going to Buy a New Galaxy Fold?

Canceling of initial sales data is decreasing the trust of Samsung’s partners as well as customers. And it is obvious that the company should do some reliable tests to prove the high quality of smartphones and win back their trust. Although the South Korean manufacturer claimed that they sorted out all problems referred to design issues, it seems that T-Mobile still does not trust them. It is obvious from their announcement on not selling a new model. Besides, Galaxy Fold is definitely something new on the market, and a lot of customers are waiting for the fall to buy this smartphone. Are you one of them?
